to Key West Hypnosis

The programs referred to
on this website are a service to the community provided by
members of the Key West Jaycees. They were established in
response to the tremendous increase in community stress that
occurred after the 2001 9/11 tragedy in New York. Programs
were stopped by the 2005 Hurricane Wilma storm surge that
flooded the island of Key West and the Jaycee clubhouse.
Monica has continued to train at least two apprentices each
year to continue to provide low cost / no cost hypnosis for
the community. Formal classes will resume in fall 2009. |

The instructor for these
programs is Monica Geers Dahl who certifies her students
through the International Medical and Dental Hypnotherapy
Association (IMDHA).

Monica has been
exploring hypnosis and mind power techniques personally
since 1970. She founded Experience Hypnosis, a private
practice in hypnosis in 1985. In 1994, she completed a
training manual for "what works" in hypnosis in response
to the requests from health care providers eager to earn
how she was getting the results with medical patients
who had failed to respond to traditional allopathic
treatment. She is presently a doctoral candidate in
Counseling Psychology at Argosy/Sarasota with a
dissertation topic of Neurofeedback for PTSD Symptom

| Florida law requires
that all therapeutic applications for hypnotherapy be
done under the supervision, direction, and prescription
of a member of the healing arts (Chapter 485: Hypnosis).
